Mary-Louise Parker
Mary-Louise Parker was born August 2 1964. She is an American actress. After her Broadway debut in Craig Lucas’s Prelude to a Kiss, in 1990, Parker was nominated for an Tony Award for the role of Rita. She played Amy Gardner on NBC's television series The West Wing from 2001 to in 2006. The role she played was so successful that she was nominated in 2002 for the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She won the Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance of Harper Pitt in the acclaimed HBO television miniseries Angels in America in 2003.Parker enjoyed a huge successes in her role as Nancy Botwin, the lead character in the tv series Weeds that ran from 2005 until 2012, and for which she was awarded three nominations for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in the field of Comedy Series between 2007 and 2009 and was awarded the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for a Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2006.Her subsequent film appearances include parts in The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), Red (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker was back on Broadway for her role in The Sound Inside in 2019 in which she was awarded her second Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play. Since 2007, Parker has contributed articles to Esquire magazine, and also published her memoir Dear Mr. You, in 2015. In 2017, she appeared in the role of Roma Guy on the ABC miniseries for television, When We Rise. She worked as a consultant to the political arena in the Showtime show Billions in the year 2018.
