Sofia Margarita Vergara, Spanish was born on the 10th of July, 1972. She is an actress, presenter, producer, model, and television presenter from Colombia. Vergara was the highest-paid actress on American television from 2013 until 2020. Vergara rose in prominence as host of two shows on Univision's Spanish-language TV network in the early 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's debut major acting role in English. After that, she was in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 which was nominated for an ALMA Award nomination). She was first seen as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett in ABC's comedy show Modern Family, for which she was awarded four Golden Globe Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards and eleven Screen Actor Guild Awards. Also, she voiced roles in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011), Escape from Planet Earth (2013), and The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was the daughter of an Roman Catholic family from Barranquilla. [8] Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara, was a homemaker, and her father, Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher in the meat industry. Her nickname was "Toti" by her siblings and numerous cousins. Vergara was a former student at the National University of Colombia in dentistry. She then left after two years to pursue opportunities for modeling and show business.
