Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California, the younger daughter of producer, media mogul, and musician Quincy
Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Kidada Jones is her older sibling. Five
half-siblings are born through other relationships with her father. Her father
is African-American and her mother is Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant of
immigrants from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised Reform Judaism. Her
birthplace was Bel Air, Los Angeles. Jones said that her mixed-race heritage
was not recognized by the public until the 1970s. Jones was a professional
actor when she made her debut on The Last Don, a mini-series that aired in 1997
based on the novel written by Mario Puzo. Rashida was also an Harvard
University graduate in 1997. In 1997, she attended the Buckley School, Sherman
Oaks, California. She was named the Most Likely to Be Successful. Her name is
Arabic (O+-O'UO-O(c)) meaning "Major, adult, grown-up, elder or

engaged to her sister Kidada Jones. Kidada and Rashida's brother Quincy Jones
III composed the song. Quincy Jones III, their father, was also featured during
the introduction, reciting Shakur's lyrics "Starry Night". The poem
was the inspiration for the title of the song. Rashida's father is
African-American, as well as having smaller amounts of English, Scottish, and
Welsh, family ancestry (some of his African family members were descendants of
the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida's mother, Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian
Jewish heritage as well as Latvian Jewish heritage), is Rashida. Her paternal
grandparents, who both came of South Carolina, and Mississippi as the paternal
grandparents of her father. Her maternal grandfather was born in New York and
her maternal grandmother was from Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in
Dublin, Ireland. She has been playing three characters called "Karen"
since 2009 on the TV show that is a cult comedy show Freaks and Geeks (1999),
Stella (2006), and The Office (2005).
