Milena Govich

Milena Govich, a director, actor and musician, has directed many episodes on TV including Chicago Med (2015), The Equalizer (2021), FBI: Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and many more. Also, she was the Co-EP/Producing director of Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently attached to two pilots currently in the process of development. Milena was chosen as one of eight directors for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. The short film she made and the TV show proof-of-concept titled Unspeakable, starring Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober, saw its World premiere at SXSW and was awarded Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017) is screened across the United States, winning Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival, Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest and the Director's Choice Award at Sedona International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has appeared in more than 100 shows of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). She was also featured in the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) which culminated in her role as the very first and only female detective on the Emmy-winning TV series Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have all featured her or recurred. Milena has also been featured in various films, including Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011), starring opposite Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and #Lucky Number (2015), starring opposite Method Man; and the features Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). The native of Norman, Oklahoma, Milena was valedictorian of high school. She then completed two majors in singing and pre-med, with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma, as well as graduating valedictorian. She benefited from her classical ballet training to stage her Broadway debut in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
