Katherine Bear
Tur was born October 26, 1983. She is an American journalist, author, and
broadcast journalist, who works as a NBC News correspondent. Tur anchors MSNBC
Reports. Since 2021, she hosts Katy Tur Reports. It airs on a weekday between
2:00 and 3:00 pm ET on MSNBC. She has also reported on NBC news platforms Early
Today as well as Today, NBC Nightly News as well as Meet the Press, WNBC TV,
MSNBC, MSNBC and The Weather Channel. Tur is the daughter and grandaughter of
journalist Zoey Tur, Marika Gerrard. She graduated from Brentwood School (2001)
and at the University of California, Santa Barbara (2005) with an undergraduate
degree in philosophy. The woman is Jewish. Tur worked as a reporter for KTLA.

following years, Tur worked as a storm chaser for The Weather Channel on the
VORTEX2 team for the network. Tur started her career at the NBC's New York City
station, WNBC-TV in 2009, and climbed to the highest position within NBC News'
national network. The station was awarded AP's Best Spot News Award that year
for her reporting of the collapse of a crane in Manhattan's Upper East Side in
March 2008. While working at NBC News, she covered the death of Cory Monteith,
a motorcycle attack on an SUV, and the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
Tur was embedded reporter at NBC News and MSNBC for Donald Trump's 2016
presidential campaign.
