Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American celebrity chef on television as well as a former teacher in the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network Series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook shows easy to master techniques as well as her distinctive blonde spiky locks. Chef Burrell worked at top New York restaurants and studied Italian cooking traditions as well as the surroundings. Also, she was a contestant in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the region of upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food from the age of a child. The Culinary Institute of America was a natural next step to take after graduating with the Bachelor of Arts degree in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was impossible to learn and do enough or put in the hours. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy was employed for a year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred restaurant. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy and this has affected her style of cooking. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of kids who face difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador, where she advocates for youth diabetes awareness. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role as a mentor and the guest speaker who discusses her work and passion for cooking. Through the course of her cooking career, Anne has said, "I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
